The Benefits of Meditation

Did you know that meditation has the ability to dissolve  fears concerning death and can generate positive qualities, like the ability to increase compassion for others and increase creativity. It can also relieve stress, improve the immune system, decrease pain and improve cardiac function (Koopsen & Young, 2009).

Meditation originated in India around 3,000 years ago. Meditation is practiced by: Hindu, Taoist, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish and Sufi  traditions.

What joy awaits discovery in the silence behind the portals of your mind no human tongue can tell. But you must convince yourself; you must meditate and create that environment.            Paramahansa Yogananda
