Death Cafe

The University of Glasgow has recently had great success with the inauguration of their Death Cafe. It  is a fabulous way to start the conversation around death and dying. The conversation that was often thought of as a taboo subject in some cultures for many years.  Well this conversation has started and looks like it is on a speeding highway as many of us baby boomers reach out to discuss all matters related to dying. People of all ages gather at the Death Cafe to talk about death, illness their own or family members who have died. Over tea and scones all dying matters are discussed. Death Cafes are being considered as a cultural intervention, for dying people, which is all of us!

According to the University of Glasgow Death Cafes started around ten years ago, in Switzerland and have become a franchise across Europe, with over 2000 events having taken place…well done to death cafes for starting the conversation on death and dying.
